Hey,
I used to do this regularly but today when I try to synchronize with laptop it throws me an error. I am not able to download new songs to my iPod because of this error. I am not hardware tech person so finding very difficult to resolve this error. I tried it again by rebooting the laptop and iPod but the error remains the same. Please help me to fix the error. Thanks a lot.

The iPod cannot be synced the required file is locked.
This error means, iTunes is not able to read or write to the database files inside your device because maybe database is corrupted or library getting locked out for writing due to read only attribute.
To resolve this problem follow these steps:

Open “My Computer”, navigate iPod disk and Right-Click the “iPod_Control” folder and remove the read-only attribute.

Now Right-click on the “iPod disk” driver and click “Properties”.

Next go to “Tools” and click “Check Now” option from “Error-checking” section.

Check “Automatically fix file system error” and click “Start”.

Now after completing the scan, eject iPod and reconnect.
That’s all if you still face the error, try restoring your iPod from the iTunes.
