Hello! I am an IPhone user. Recently I unplugged my iPhone from my laptop and then locked it. After sometime, I tried to unlock it but there was no display. My phone had almost half battery life remaining when I unplugged it from the laptop and now it acts like it is turned off. I tried to charge it but it doesn't charge. Then I plugged it in my laptop and the laptop doesn't even make a notification that mobile is plugged in. What is wrong with my phone?

There are a few things you can try:

  1. Hold the “Home” and “Power” (or “Sleep”) buttons at the same time.  The Apple logo should appear within 15 – 30 seconds.  Release the buttons at the same time, wait for about 2 minutes, and your phone should be back to normal.
  2. Switch the “Mute” button 4 – 6 times (up and down, up and down, etc.).  Now press the “Home” and “Power” (or “Sleep”) buttons at the same time for about 15 – 30 seconds.
  3. Use iTunes on your PC to restore your phone. Restoring in recovery mode will erase EVERYTHING FROM your device. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you might be able to restore from your backup.  This can be done by following the steps below:
  • Plug in your phone’s USB cable to a computer that has iTunes installed on it
  • As you connect the phone’s USB cable to the computer, hold down the “Home” button and keep holding it until you see the “Connect to iTunes” screen, as shown below:

  • When this screen appears, let go of the “Home” button.  When the phone is connected, iTunes will open up.  A box will appear saying that iTunes has detected a phone in recovery mode.  You can click the “Restore” button to reset it to the factory settings.
