Hello people,

Yesterday a friend of mine told me about the apple new update to 4.2. I decided to update my phone but in trying to do so it gave me an error 1015 and my phone could not be updated. The screenshot of the error is as follows:

 The error reads as:

The iPhone “iPhone” could not be updated. An unknown error occurred (1015).

Now my iPhone stocks at recovery mode and all I can do is restore and it gives me the same error. Can anyone please help me out? I'll be really grateful.

Waiting for your replies.

Thanking you loads.

Hi dear,

You may get release from iphone restoring or updating problem by following some easy steps.

First method: Find a Error 1015 Fixer tool and a LibUSB. When you will encounter the error then click on Fix my error from the fixer tool.

Second: Try to restore again. You will get the same error probably. Hold down power button about 15s. Now release and do same for 2s.

Third method: Download iRecovery and run it. Write fsboot after startup and wait for 3 mins.

Error code “1015” in iOS sounds like bad news for jailbreakers. If you encounter this error when updating your iOS device or you receive the message “the required resource can’t be found,” it indicates either you are downgrading or installing an earlier version of iOS or your device might have unauthorized software modifications or was jailbroken.

Jailbreaking in iOS is the equivalent of rooting in Android. To restore your device to the latest version of iOS, you need to use recovery mode. Go to Put your device in recovery mode and follow the instructions. Before you start, make sure your operating system is up-to-date. If you are using iTunes, make sure iTunes is up-to-date.
