Sometimes setting your phone in silent mode is very handy especially if you are busy and don’t want anything disturbing you. But on the other hand, if a problem happened and your phone doesn’t want to come out from being in silent mode, this would also be a big problem since you will be stuck on receiving different alerts or maybe receiving calls. To fix it, first try flipping the “ring/silent” switch upward located on the side to hide the orange shading.

If that didn’t work, go to “Settings” then tap the “Sounds” tab. Check all the switches under the “Ring” slider if they are all set to “On” then drag the slider all the way to the right. If that didn’t work either, you may now try restarting your phone. Press and hold the “on/off/sleep/wake” button until you see the “Slide to Power Off” red prompt bar. Slide your finger across the prompt then wait until your handset turns off. Press and hold the same button again until the Apple logo appears to turn it back on.

If that, too, didn’t work, the last option is to reset your iPhone. Press and hold the same button together with the “Home” button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
