IPad crashes and have to restart

Hello, my Apple iPad works fine but then occasionally will completely freeze and I have to turn it off and start it again.  The storage is fine, I don't have that many apps on it, and I don't use it for much.  It is never the same app.  It just will stop and freeze and the only way to fix it is turn it off and start it over.  I have the latest update.  Do I need to delete all apps and reinstall?  Any other suggestions?

Follow the steps below to do some basic troubleshooting

  1. Close all the apps that are running in the background.  On the Home screen, double tap to bring up the bottom of it.  All of the apps at the bottom are apps that are currently running in the background.  Hold down on an app until the minus sign appears and tap on it to close the app.  Do this to each running app.
  2. Make a backup of your iPad and try to reset it.  To do that, turn off the device.  Go to iTunes on your PC and connect the switched off iPad into your PC using the USB cable.  Hold down the Home button while plugging the other end of the cable into your device.  Do not release the Home button until you see the iTunes picture.  Release the Home button.  On your computer, you will see a message that “iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode”.  Select “Restore iPad”.
  3. Hold down the Wake/Sleep button and the Home button at the same time until the screen goes blank.  You will get a message asking if you want to turn your iPad off, just keep pressing the buttons until the screen goes blank.  Once the screen is blank, release the buttons and wait for a few seconds before switching it back on.
