How can I invoke Windows Update via command line? I want to know what is happening in the background. What do I need to type in the command prompt Windows update command line?

Invoking Windows Update Via Command Line: Windows Update Command Line.
You can update Windows by using the command line.You just need to follow these steps:
(i) You can invoke Windows Update via command line by using a utility wuauclt.exe which is in the following folder – %windir%system32folder.

(ii) Check the updates.
(iii) Check and update.
(iv) Disable 'Never Check for Updates' inside the Windows Update settings.
(v) To start the Graphics User Interface enter the command.
