My Internet Explorer 8 web browser turns off repetitively without any error message or acknowledgement. I have done a AVG scan and also done Spybot. But nothing seems to work. Do I need to reset or re-install Internet Explorer to resolve the issue? Please suggest.

Internet explorer may be restarting repetitively because it has developed a bug in it, or they may be a problem with registry entries. The following is what I will suggest that you do:

  • Get an application called ccleaner and install it on your computer. Once you have installed ccleaner you will need to launch it and run a registry fix to correct any problems with registry entries that may have developed on your computer. After that try running internet explorer and see if it will work properly.
  • In case it does not, you will need to get the latest version of internet explorer and install it so as to fix and bugs that are may have developed in the version that you are using right now.
