Internet connections; connects then disconnects

Good day my fellow! My Linksys router has never given me peace since it detaches connections from the internet when I use it on wireless connection devices like my laptop. Well the connections and disconnections alternate since it connects for a while and then disconnects. According to me, I think the wireless set up is alright since the router can link-up to the internet. Furthermore, after looking into the settings of the laptop and the router, I found no fault in them. I really don’t know what to do next. I definitely need your help.

Hello Tony

Check the symptoms in your Linksys router. Look at how any indicator lights are blinking and refer to the router's manual to decipher the code that could tell you the problem. A loose cable connection could cause this issue. Remove and plug in the cable connection from the router to the computer. Try using a different port to connect the router.

An IRQ conflict could be causing this problem. To check this right click on My Computer and select Properties. Go to the Hardware tab and click on device manger. Right click on your router in the list of devices and select properties. At the Resources tab see whether there is any conflict shown at the bottom.

You need to check the wire that is connecting the router and computer and you need to change that wire in this case if you are getting this problem the main reason is that you have a fault in the lines that connects your computer with your router device and you need to change that line or just check it that it is working properly. It was a major problem that causes this type of error the other reason can be that you have a network signal problem in your area or you are getting a week signal check the signal strength if you are running on signal device. Then also check and reset you router device to make sure that the device is working properly and it have no fault. These are the reasons that can be cause of such disconnection and after going through these steps i am sure that you will go through your problem.

Hello Tony Well,

If you are successfully able to connect to the internet, then I suspect the problem is not entirely with the router but the computer that you are using. I will advice that you check the wireless connection settings if you have set the Wi-Fi network to use IP addresses and ensure that you have configured the settings properly and that no IP addresses are clashing on the network.

Also check the signal strength of the laptop at the place that you are. Maybe the laptop is disconnecting because the signal strength it too low at that place hence you will required to look for a hotspot.
