Intel is planning to launch its new chipset for ultrabook's. I have a doubt like how these chipsets vary from each other in performance and processing as we already have i5 i7 kind of processors which can give better performance?

Hi,

Intel i7 processor can give better performance than i5 processor.

Intel Core i7 and i5

The differences between i5 and i7 processors are:

1. The performance is basically measured using clock speeds.

i5 has clock speeds of 2.8 GHz-3.3 GHz. It varies on the model chosen.

i7 has a clock speed of 3.4 GHz.

2. Most of the i5 processors have dual core, only a few high end models have quad core.

Most of the i7 processors have quad core which increases performance.

3. The i7 processor has 8 threads and it implements hyper threading. This helps to increase the performance of high end processing applications.

4. The computers with i7 are generally priced higher than the computers with i5 because of the above features.

If you have high end processing applications then you can use i7. Otherwise i5 will be good enough.
