I have this error when I try to install a small or a big app from the market. I don’t know why is saying that I don’t have free memory to install because I have 4GB free space on my phone. Can anyone help me please to fix this ? Why I cannot install anything ?
Insufficient memory to install the application, please free up sufficient memory space.
Insufficient memory to install the application
I think this error happened on a mobile phone and not on a PC. If the app you wish to install has already been downloaded to your memory card then there’s no need to download the app again because the installer is already on your phone. You just need to check why your phone has a very low memory. One of the possible reasons is running several apps simultaneously.
If you have apps running, try closing them and then install the app again. If it doesn’t work and the handset still reports a low memory, you need to check if there are still apps running in the background. What I notice with several Android apps, when you are done using them and you exit the program, they indeed exit your screen which you will think that the app has really terminated.
But in reality, the app is still running in the background and you can check and see it in the task manager. I’ve experienced it with several Android games I downloaded and installed on my sister’s Samsung Galaxy S3 mini and it’s really not good. So, it would be a good idea to check the task manager after each application that you close.
In your case, if you are sure that you are not running any apps, check the task manager. You should see what apps are still running. Close the apps and then continue installing your application.
