Hi Experts,

I am having Norton antivirus on my desktop. But it had stopped Java software working permanently by blocking it. Does anyone know Norton stopping Java. How avoid Norton detects Java as a malware. Thanks.

Regards,

Zenith Keen

Try this way. First uninstall both the things, I mean Norton anti-virus and Java. Once you have uninstalled those. First Install Java on your system. After the installation of Java is done on your system then Restart your system and try to enable all the features that are needed for IE and other tools which use Java.

Once everything is done now install the Norton antivirus and once the installation of this thing is done. Reboot the server and see what happens whether you are able to access all the Java related tools or not. I think it should work without giving any sort of problems to you.

Hallo Zenith,

To resolve the issue that you are getting, you will need to use the following procedure:

  • On your computer, at the bottom right hand corner of your screen you should see Norton with a green check mark.
  • You will need to click on it, and then go to the top of the new window that opens and then click the Norton Internet Security tab.
  • After that go to the setting tab in the middle and then click on it.
  • Navigate to the bottom until you see the Internet Security and Firewall Option.
  • You will need to click on it, and then enter your password if you are using one.
  • And then click OK.
  • A  new window will open to the left that has got  Program Control, you will need to click on it.
  • You should see all the option for the programs; you can stop Norton from blocking Java from there.

Regards,

Carl
