I tried several times to install HP 1005 printer but could not succeed. Therefore, could you experts tell me what I should do to use my this printer with my laptop?

Maybe you have not installed your printer driver. You need to install it all by yourself. Download your printer driver from HP website. It is compatible with Windows 7 and other versions of Windows.
Sometimes printers don’t work for want of proper driver. After you've installed, you will be able to use print.

Keep Windows updated regularly for your device to obtain the latest drivers. The hardware manufacturers provide the drivers on the Windows update site. Â
If your issue will not work install the Vista drivers in compatibility mode then remove and rescane the hardware device in Device manage, right-click on the driver executable/installer file then properties, select the compatibility tab and click the check box select Windows vista in the list down box before running compatibility mode. Install the device drivers for testing use Windows XP drivers.
