Hello,

Recently I replaced my laptop’s battery with a new one. On the battery box says that is a universal one. When I turned on my laptop this caution appeared on my desktop and it says is not compatible with my laptop. I tried to send back the battery because of this error but they said to me that I shouldn’t pay attention to it. I am worried, please can anyone help me to fix this error? Is possible that the battery is not compatible with my laptop?

Thanks experts!

Hello,

This type of error usually happens when you’ve got a generic (non-Sony) battery on your computer. Disabling the “ISB Utility” will solve this issue. It doesn’t recognize the battery so this error is appearing.

1. Go to Start menu >> All programs >> Accessories >> Run.

2. Type and enter: “msconfig”.

3. Open the “Startup” tab.

4. Uncheck the “ISB Utility” from the list.

5. Restart your computer.

In case you don’t find out any “ISB Utility”, try to remember if you have installed any software like “ISB Utility”. Uninstall it and then restart your PC.

This annoying error will give you no more issue.
