Installation problem on Symantec Antivirus

I’m trying to install Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 12.1 on my Windows Vista. When I run the setup I received an error message “Symantec Antivirus Install Failed”.

My previous Antivirus was Norton Internet Security 2009 so I uninstalled it first to have a clean install of the Corporate Edition but still gives me the same problem. Below is the error message:

Symantec Antivirus install FAILED!

Please reboot and try again.

note:You may need to run NONAv249.exe if the reinstall fails.

I already ran a registry cleaner to clean my computer system and yet same problem occurs. How can I have a successful installation of this program and why is this error appearing?

First check any other registry software for repair! Then if this error remains the same, then move to Restore System. If you don't want to restore, then install any other Antivirus like AVG etc. Scan your whole System. Use it a day ! After a day uninstall the AVG and install your Symantec Antivirus!

If your first try in installing Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 12.1 is a total failure, check your computer if you have other Norton products that are currently installed.

If you have other Norton applications in your desktop, uninstall it then restart the installation of Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 12.1. If the installation still failed, try downloading Norton Removal Tool.

It will remove all Norton products from your computer and will clean your hard drive from any left components that are causing the installation to fail. After you downloaded it, double-click the file to open it then follow the onscreen instructions.

Try installing again Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 12.1.
