Installation Error While Installing AVG.

I need help, please. I can’t install my AVG and I’ve been working at it for a couple of minutes now, but I couldn’t fix it.

Every time I install it, it shows an error message:

“Severity:Error

Error code:0xc0070643
Error message: MSI Engine: Failed to install the product
Context: AVG product installation”
 
Can someone help me fix this?

Dear Cunananlovley to provide a solution you must provide complete detail which includes installation log files and MSinfo output.

For the time being follow the following steps.

1. Download the AVG again from their official site

2. Please make sure its 32 bit or 64bit depending on your os installed

3. Do not install in safe mode.

4. Make sure no other program is running in background like any update or something.

Hello Cunana,

Well, it appears like the setup that you are using for the installation of the AVG antivirus has been infected by malware. You should therefore stop attempting using it for installation for it may even crash your computer.

What you will need to do to resolve that issue is the following:

  • You will need to go to the AVG manufacturer's site, www.avg.com, and download the antivirus from there.
  • If you choose to download the antivirus from a third party site, you should ensure that you check user reviews and ensure that you are downloading  a trusted setup.
  • Also ensure that the antivirus you download is compatible with the system specs on your computer.
