I was trying t install the SCCM client on my computer. This pc has the App-V client installed on it. During the installation, most of my applications no longer work and suddenly crashed followed by this error:

Unable to initialize package information (0×00000000)

The problem is that whenever App-V is set to work in Full Infrastructure Mode and the Configuration Manager client agent is installed on the same machine, where an App-V client is already installed. When Configuration Manager client agent is installed, it assumes that it should handle virtualized application. During Configuration Manager client agent installation, App-V client cache is flushed, App-V registry keys are modified, causing the error described above.

Please use ConfigMgr to manage virtual applications instead of using the App-V management server.

If you are installing a particular program on your computer, check the system requirements before installing then make sure your computer meets those requirements. If your system falls short, you cannot install the program. You need to upgrade your system before you can install it. On the other hand, if there is no compatibility problem but you cannot install it, make sure you are using an administrator account when installing.

If you have an admin account but it still fails, try to run the installer as admin. Right-click the setup file and select “Run as administrator.” But if you don’t have an admin account, ask the network administrator to install the program for you or any user on the computer with an administrator account. That’s basically the only way you can install the application.
