Hallo Roger,

The cause of the error message that you are getting could be the graphics drivers that you are trying to install on the computer. The drivers could not be supporting the chipset in the system, or will not be able to work with the current system configuration. To resolve that issue, you will need to do the following:

You will need to check the graphics drivers are being installed on your computer for a list of common reasons that this error occurs. First check if the drivers are one of the following:

  • Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Drivers (Intel® 82915G Express Chipset family)
  • Intel® Extreme Graphics Drivers (Intel® 82865G Express Chipset)
  • Intel® Extreme Graphics Drivers (Intel® 82845G graphics controller)
  • Drivers for Intel® 82815 graphics controller

Once you establish which drivers, you can visit the intel site and verify the common problems associated with that driver and the solution to the problems.

Regards,

Carl

Dear User,

You get this error probably because you have an AGP VGA card already installed in your PC. And working well.

If you want to install this driver you should go to your BIOS when the computer starts up and then enable your integrated Graphic device. And then turn the computer off and remove the AGP card already installed in your PC.

And then proceed with the onboard VGA. Thank you.

Before installing any driver on your computer, make sure the driver you are installing is compatible with your current system. So, if you are installing a driver for your video card, make sure the driver you downloaded is compatible with your current operating system and the motherboard has the correct chipset.

If your system is running on the built-in 82845 video chipset, head down to Graphics Drivers for Intel 82845G Graphics Controller and download the driver for your operating system. The available drivers listed here support Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium, Windows NT 4, Windows 2000, and Windows XP including Linux and OS/2. These are the latest drivers for the 82845G video card controller. See if this works.
