Installing the Operating System of a certain PC is basically done though DVD.

However with the onset of netbooks and notebooks that do not have DVD drive, how can we install Windows OS using USB flash drive instead of using DVD?

You have to follow some steps to install Windows OS using USB flash drive.

You can download the utility tool from Microsoft Store.

This tool is actually constructed to install Windows 7 but works great for Windows 8 too.

After download you have to install it and follow the steps.

1. Connect your USB flash drive of at least 4GB.

2. Double click on the Download Tool icon to launch and click “Yes” when prompted by UAC.

3. Click on Browse and select the .iso file and then press “Next”.

4. Then select USB device option.

5. After that click on “Being Copying”.

6. If there is any existing file in your USB drive. You will get the message “Erase USB Device”. Select it to erase.

7. It will first format your USB flash drive and after that it will copy all the files in your USB drive. Close the Windows after 100% completion.

Now USB flash drive is ready to use. Connect the USB drive with your PC in which you want to install Windows OS.   Start your computer and press any recommended button to choose booting device, then select USB Flash Drive to begin the installation of windows 8.
