Install a trial version copy of Server 2003 into my Virtual Machine

I am currently setting out to familiarize the Server environment and trying to get some small business clients to serve. So I would need to install a trial version copy of Server 2003 into my Virtual Machine to get this done and know the works. Can anybody help to advise where I could get the software?

I am just interested in a trial version as I do not wish to be violating and Microsoft license laws. I already tried all sorts of websites but haven't come across one that could allow me to download it. Would be very helpful if any one of you could direct me to one source.

Greatly appreciate your help.

Hello,

The Windows Server 2003 trial version for Virtual Machine can be found on the following

This can be run in Windows Virtual PC.

The Server 2003 is available in VHD format. Any virtualization product that supports .vhd format will be able to run this virtual machine. As far as I know, it is supported by Oracle VM VirtualBox, VMware and VMware ESX Server and Citrix XenServer.

Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Ed. 30 Trial version provided by VMware can be found on

This version is for machine running VMware Fusion on Mac (as they have written on the website). A good amount of information can be found on the above mentioned URL which will help you in importing the downloaded file in VMware Fusion and how to start the Trial Windows server on VMware Fusion.

Happy computing 🙂
