They say that Epic series will upgrade for $6,000, but what is the cost of Scarlet's upgrade?

It's a bad news if you are using Scarlet upgrade you will have to wait until 2013 with no idea on how much is the upgrade going to be. It will cost Epic users $6,000 for the upgrade kit. Existing RED camera owners can look forward to an incredibly impressive 15+ stops of native dynamic range and up to 120 frames-per-second at resolutions up to 5K.

Yes, that’s right. Red Dragon is launching its latest upgrade kit that you can add on to your Scarlet and or EPIC camera to boost and improve its present resolution. The new upgrade kit can give you resolutions of 5K at 120 fps [frames per second], or 6K at 85 fps with Dynamic Range of 15+ stops. According to Jim Jannard, Red Dragon’s CEO, the new sensor is a bit larger compared to that of the Mysterium-X but the pixel is quite smaller.
If you are an owner of an EPIC camera, it’ll probably cost you $6,000 and expect the kit’s availability about the end of this year, 2013. But for Scarlet camera owners, there is still no word regarding its availability as well as its price.
