Laptop or Netbook: Which is better for a Web Developer job?

Hello everyone,

I'm a Web Developer and i have my own office at home (freelance). I'm planning to buy a laptop because, i travel a lot and i need to keep working during trips, hotel nights and maybe while eating and meetings. So, considering I'd need to run applications like Eclipse, PhpEd, Photoshop and other IDE's.

Would you recommend me buying a netbook?

I'm also not sure if a netbook is comfortable for writing for long periods because of the narrowed keyboard.

Any suggestions?

I would appreciate suggestions about specific models, or processors i should look up, minimal configurations to run programs mentioned smoothly, etc.

Dear Friend, I am not telling you to buy laptop or notebook. I am trying to suggest you on the basis of some things. At first, I will admire you that you have decided to buy a device for your personal as well as for professional uses.

Though net book is very handy and portable to use, it has some limitation that you also know. Besides, it's screen is too small to see. But as it is very handy, it is just for you on thy way of traveling. On the other hand, laptop is also portable to use.

Besides you can change of it's part as it is available. You can do your works normally which may not possible with net book. Hope you will make the right decision.

My dear,

In my thinking that programmer must need laptop for his work. As I have bought in my earlier days. So I will sagest it also to you. As you are a programmer and developer you need a laptop which is not so heavy and have less weight also it have good programming features as well as a good hard drive to store your data also may of 100 GB approximately. Same is the case with processor you need a good for a good speed and good programming practice.

Anyhow it’s almost on you that what is your budget and who will you arrange but I will sagest you to buy a good company and it will work fine for a long time.
