Hi!

I have this Windows Installer package. I don’t know what it means and why I have it. I am a newbie with the PC and I am trying to use an iCloud because it seems like everyone has one now. I want to learn a little bit of everything but I am stuck when such error appears. Please help me solving this and if it is possible please tell me more about iCloud or recommend me to read an article

Thank you very much!

There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

Since you are in Windows Vista or Windows 7 I think, try running iCloud Control Panel as administrator. Maybe that prevents the DLL file from being accessed. Right-click on the iCloud Control Panel installer and select Properties. Select Compatibility tab and check “Run this program as an administrator” and click OK. Start the installer again and see if it works.

This fixes the problem most of the time. If this method doesn’t work, try downloading the latest version from iCloud Control Panel 3.1 for Windows. But before you install it, make sure you are not using Microsoft Windows Vista because it doesn’t support it. This version is only for Windows 7 and Windows 8. See image.
