Hi Jai Zadok,

Thanks for sharing your problem. I'd be glad to help you find a solution. Apple's Ipod have may supported formats mainly mp3, mp4, wav, and m4a. I am sorry to inform you that it doesn't support playing midi files. So heres the solution, all you need to do is to convert the midi files to a supported format. You can use this free software called format factory to convert your audio files. Here is the link http://www.pcfreetime.com/

Hope this Helps! Goodluck!

Hi Jai Zadok,

IPod touch can support AAC, Protected AAC, MP3, MP3 VBR, AIFF, and WAV. As you see, it does not support MIDI file. If you want to play MIDI files, you need to convert these file to one of supported format above.

My suggestion is MIDI Converter Studio application, because this software has friendly window and easy to use. Click on Add files button > locate and choose your MIDI files > in Output format: choose format you want > in Output folder: locate where you want to save your “new” files > click on Convert button

You can download this soft here: https://www.maniactools.com/soft/midi_converter/

Hope this helps

Importing music files to your iPod is easy using iTunes but with MIDI files, that would be different. The usual music files can be easily imported to iPod because the files appear on iTunes. MIDI files don’t appear in iTunes. But there is a way you can play MIDI files on your device. First, you need to install an application called Sweet MIDI Player.

The app has built-in MIDI files that are only visible to the app but not on iTunes. To get your files transferred to the app, go to About File Sharing on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. This should help you add or transfer files to the Sweet MIDI Player app. This method will require you to update iTunes so make sure you have the latest iTunes.
