I am planning to connect my huawei mobile into my mac operating system computer because I have something to download from my computer to my mobile phone. I want to ask here first before doing any move just to be sure and secured not to damage both computer and phone.

I have done this many times, connecting a Nokia N70 to my PC using its USB cable, and this will not cause any sorts of problem either with your mobile phone or with your computer. And besides, you are using your phone’s software while accessing it through your computer. You cannot access your device and download something to it if you don’t have your phone’s software installed on your computer. The application is really required if you want to do this.
If the phone’s software is not yet installed, install it first then restart your computer when needed. After booting, open your phone’s software then connect your phone to your computer using its USB cable. See if you will not encounter any problem while using it. After this, you can now download the file to your phone.
