Hi guys.  I have a Dell XPS 17 that has an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, 1 GB Video Card and Windows 7 OS.  My back up battery only lasts about an hour during standby.  I need tips about Dell battery back up increase life.  Can someone help?

Hi,

There are many ways to increase battery life :

 1- Avoid deep discharging any rechargeable battery  because it is extremely fatal for it.

 2- Uninstall unused programs that run in the background.

 3- Reduce brightness by changing power plan.

 4-Turn OFF signal check for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

 5- Use Hibernate rather than Sleep.
