I Need to Repair Hard Disk Bad Sector

I have some important data in my old Maxtor hard disk. Recently I have tried to transfer those data to another hard disk. But in the middle of the copying process suddenly it stops. After failing for couple of times, I tested the hard drive. The test result revealed that I had a bad sector or partition need to replace that hard drive before crushing the full system. But I need to retrieve those data before dumping the drive.

My question is:

  1. Is there any software available to repair the bad sector?
  2. Can I still use one of the good options of that hard drive?

Your first question answer is,there are many software available to repair the bad sector. I give you a URL for download a software and use it for your problem, in this web site they give the instruction for use the software. Now, your second question answer is,bad sector are unreadable sectors on your hard disk, that means you can not read the data from the bad sector. Some times the bad sectors can be simulated that program. So you should uninstalled that program. Then check your hard disk if the problem still in there you should fix that sector. Before you fix it you must extract the data that was written to that block. For that you must run a recovery program that you can find freeware on the net. Then You take some steps for fix that errors.

  1. Right click on the drive which have the bad sector and click properties.
  2. Click tools tab and under error-checking,click check now
  3. In dialog box select the automatically fix file system errors or/and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors check box automatically fix file system errors.

After that you can use the software (for repair hard disk bad sector).good luck,i think you can solve your problem. Thank you regards.
