I have a desktop that has a Core Duo processor, 4 GB RAM, a 500 GB Hitachi HDD and Windows Vista. I'm having trouble accessing some of my files so I did an error disk check. It came out with a Sector 0 error. Is there a hard disk repair program for Vista?

Hello,
There are several ways that you can recover your error.
1. Click on the start menu and type “cmd”.
2. Right-click on “cmd.exe” and select “Run as administrator”.
3. Run the following command:
chkdsk x: /r
Here, “X:” indicates to the drive you’re having trouble.
There are many tools online which are awesome and free but most of them are not effective.
I use AOMEI Partition Assistant. Its functions are really awesome and also supports a lot of features which will help you fix your issue.

Steps on how to check your hard disk in vista:
“This is for you to make sure if the failure is coming from the hard disk, it doesn’t mean that you are having trouble accessing your files that your hard disk is the problem, just to make sure follow the steps.”
– Right Click on Computer Icon
– Click Properties
– Click the tools tab and you will see Error checking, hit check now. It will ask your administrator password.
– To perform this select (Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors)
– Click start
Another way is by downloading free check disk or to check the health of your hard drive.
