Hi guys,

I'm trying to copy a 200 MB file from my desktop to the server. Why is it that I'm having a server disk full error when copying? I use Windows 7 64 bit and Windows Server 2008. Can someone help? Any help would be much appreciated.

Windows Home server 2011 does not provide functionality for maintaining backups. I think the idea is to replace the backup disk by a new (or additional) disk when free space on the backup disk runs low.

Actually at this point I do not know the "answer" on your question other than that as WHS 2011 uses the "Windows Server Backup" functionality available in the underlying OS you can probably (like in "not supported") use additional functionality at the OS level from the Remote Desktop.

If you are copying a file from a desktop computer to a server but the server throws you a “disk full error”, try cleaning the system from unwanted files. The operating system will not throw this error if the available space on the hard drive is enough. Download the free version of CCleaner and install it. Once installed, start CCleaner and clean your system.

The latest version at the moment, CCleaner 5.43.6522, supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10 including Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows Server 2012. Also, try using WinDirStat to view a disk usage statistics of your hard drive to see what’s eating up your space.
