I have a 16 GB Samsung Galaxy S I9000 with 1 GHz Cortex-A8 CPU and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.  I'm having problems connecting my Galaxy to my PC using KIES, always an error of "MTP USB Device driver software was not successfully installed".  My PC is running on Windows 8 64 bit.  Anyone else having mtp USB device Samsung galaxy s error?

First of all, download the latest version of KIES from the link below:

http://www.samsung.com/in/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/

Then install it to your computer and see if it will work. If not, check to see if there are any applications installed that have the admin privilege that controls the SD card. If so, then it won't let you allow MTP. To fix this, under the Security and Lock Screen Settings, click Device Administration and then Device Administrators. Click to see if there are applications that have admin privileges, deactivate if there is any to allow MTP access. You will lose the data on your SD card if you invalidate the admin privilege.

If the problem still persists after all the given solutions, you can contact the Samsung Support Team from the link below:

Dear user,
Follow these steps for your guidance:
1) Open the software Samsung Kies, click the Driver recovery. It will reinstall the drivers.
2) Then, Open your phone's settings, open Applications, click on development, then tick mark on USB mode.
3) Now, connect the phone with USB. It will now install properly. Now, disconnect  the USB, then remove the tick mark of USB mode. Now connect the phone again.
Hope this will help you.
Thank you.
