I'm trying to make my family tree with 3D effects so I purchased and installed MacFamilyTree 5.5. The program only shows a black screen when launched. What seems to be the problem with MacFamilyTree 5.5? I have an 11" MacBook Air that has 1.7 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, Intel HD Graphics and upgraded OSx Mountain Lion.

I think their is no problem in your Macbook the problem is maybe the program that you had installed was a BETA because I've searched for Macfamily Tree 5.5 program and it appears to the result that this program is seems to be BETA. Just try to use another version of Macfamily Tree like version 5.7. There are a lots of improvement in this version one of this is having a several smaller bug fixes.

MacFamilyTree is a commercial genealogy program for Mac OS X which helps users build their family tree, adding data about family members, including pictures and soundclips. MacFamilyTree is easy to use and has an excellent media integration however there were reports that MacFamilyTree lack features. If you have complaints about the product, the developers cannot do anything about it. The developers instead will better suggest that you purchase Reunion since Reunion is better than MacFamilyTree.
