I lost my FF bookmark which went to AWOL. I neither can see the most nor can get back from backup. Rescued some extension/ plug-ins by import an html file. No assist got from FF and can’t operate disk check. In windows 7 environment does FF re-setup will be ok or not?

Please try to install Firefox Portable. This may helps to pick up all the bookmarks. For future I would like to inform you to use SyncPlaces if you are using your own FTP. It helps to save and restore the bookmarks with Favorite icons as well as passwords. Also if you try to restore the bookmark toolbar it won’t get scrambled. It will restore correctly.

One more solution is you can download and use Shadow Explorer. It allows browsing the shadow copies. It shows available point in time copies. You can browse through this shadow copies. Most important thing is it is useful to retrieve the versions of files and folders which you accidently deleted.

But these are not a replacement for regular back ups. These are saved in the same disk where the original data is. If the disk fails these copies are also lost. These can be used as an additional back up but not the replacement.
