I have a Samsung galaxy Ace, I want to update my phone.

But I have a doubt, because I have some important data's in my phone and also some contacts. I don't want to loose it.

Do I need to take a Backup before?

Dear Deloresigott ,

You want to update your Samsung galaxy ace phone. When your phone will update its software to its newer version, phone will discard all old software’s and data. In some cases some phone may not delete old software and data.

If you want to update your android OS to its newer version, then it will better to take a backup of your phone’s data. You must take your contact numbers and SMS in backup

If you don’t want to lose your data, after taking a backup, you update your phones firmware.

I hope you understand my suggestion.

Thank you.

It runs on 278 MB RAM with 158 MB internal storage. The primary camera supports 5 megapixels with AF and f/2.6 featuring LED flash. It can record video in 480p at 24 fps.

There is no secondary camera. It has 3.5-millimeter jack featuring DNSe sound, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with DLNA and hotspot support, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, GPS with A-GPS support, stereo FM radio with RDS support, and microUSB 2.0. Similar to doing a factory reset, it is wise to back up your phone’s data on a microSD card before doing an update on the operating system.
