I get this following error message with certain workbooks

Error -2147319765: Automation error

Element not found,Or an error like ' Sorry, your sheet cannot be used for this tool…'

Error : ASAP Utilities – delete all objects on current worksheet

Sorry, your sheet somehow cannot be use for this tool.

This might be due to macros with error in your file. You can try it again by re-opening your workbook without enabling the macros in it.

Another reason might be a bug in excel, in that case you could try to copy all the information from your current worksheet to a fresh new worksheet and run the utility again.

A solution might also be to put your worksheet in visual basic/Developers ‘design mode’ and then run the utility again.

Hi,

The reason behind you are getting this error is the macros that are enabled in your workbook. Microsoft announced they have this intermittent issue in the MS excel 2007 where the user gets an automation error when they open the file.

A simple workaround to get rid of this annoying issues is:

Find the process and kill it in your task manager.
Then re-open your excel work book and disable macros
By disabling you are allowed to open the file with no macros running
Now unshare the and save the file.
Now re-enable the macros you want to and re-open the file.

If this didn't work re-installing MS excel should get rid of this error.

Hope this helps!! and Good Luck!

This problem occurs if there are macro errors or if Visual Basic project contains so many ActiveX components in your workbook. And the worksheet cannot be accessible via a macro.

If this problem occurs due to macros errors in your file. You can re-open your workbook and disable the macros in it.  However this solution doesn’t always seem to solve the problem in Excel 2007.

Or you can also try to put Excel in ‘Design Mode’ and then run the utility. But if this error occurs because a bug in Excel, you could try to copy all the information and paste to a fresh new worksheet and run the utility again.
