Hi everyone ,

The hard drive of my fathers’ computer in his business has been down.

Luckily I cloned the drive to my external hard drive manufactured by Western Digital before the system turns down. I use an application to clone the information from my fathers’ computer hard drive but I forgot what software is used.

I need suggestion on what software I can use to transfer back the information on my fathers’ computer.

Thanks!

Hello Lorie,

There are several cloning software that you can use, but I will recommend for you the following:

Clonezilla:- It is free, and it has a file system that is supported by ext2, 3 and 4, reiserfs, reiser4, FAT, NTFS, GNU and many others.

It works both in 32 and 62 bit versions of the operating system.

Clonezilla only restores the partitions in the blocks that have been saved. It also supports sector to sector copy of files and also the grub version.

It supports unattended mode, allowing all steps to be done via commands and options, and other boot parameters so as to customize the imaging and cloning to suit your interest.

So just look for clonezilla online, and it should do you the best of service.

I tried Clonezilla as you suggested and it worked.

And it is supported with the file system that i am currently using plus i have 62bit OS makes it work best.

Thank you Lee Hung
