What is Memory Image, Logical and Physical Resources?

Hello my name is John Sena and I am a Master of Computer Sciences. During my studies I also faced that types of problems but I studied different types of books and got their answers. Ok now the answer of your question is that the Memory image here means that the position/ status of the memory (number of variables, their names and operations etc) seen by a Parent process is also visible to a Child process because child process is the copy of the parent process. After execution of Fork system call, a child is created which is the exact copy (memory image) of its parent. Therefore after formation of these two separate processes, one of the process execute execlp system call, this system call destroy the memory image of the process which calls this execlp system call. This makes both the processes to further proceeds their own execution independently. So first part of your question is complete.

(b)The  Logical resource can be some variable or shared memory or file etc. whereas physical resources are hard disc, keyboard etc

Ok dear hope you will get the right point.

It was something that is previously experienced. And when it comes to computer, physical memory is an imaged that is being analyze sing a variety tools. When a memory has been imaged, the subject is as certain as the state of the system and so on. The most vexing problem for a memory image is when the image is verified created correctly. When it reflects the actual content at the time of creation. Physical resources includes peripheral devices, processor and memory. Example of a physical resources is a common personal computer system that has a 640k memory, single floppy disk, keyboard, single video display and a 20Mbyte Winchesters disk. Logical resources gives temporary control to physical resources. This is essentially identical to all UNIX system, and divided into files and processor. The advantage of UNIX over other system is it has a wide variety of physical resources.

Hope it helps you 🙂
