I cannot enter into my notebook’s BIOS setup

Hello experts,

I was unable to open the BIOS setup on my laptop. The usual way is to press the F2 key to open the BIOS setup while booting but I already tried it few times, and I was unlucky. I have an EFI BIOS firmware before in my Windows 7 PC. I want to dual boot my Windows 8 and install Windows 7 into it but it also doesn't work. I am running Lenovo B570e with Core i3 2330M x64 with 500GB Sata HD, Intel HD 3000, 2GB graphics card. What are the process to dual-boot my laptop?

You are in Windows 8 now. Windows 8 have a function named hybrid boot. That is just a bypass to windows. That means is skip bios check to have a faster start up. That is why, you are unable to enter BIOS.

You may consider a full shutdown so next time you start your computer, It should check BIOS. For a full shutdown, go to command prompt and write "shutdown /s /t 0" (remove the quotes). This will Does a full shutdown. Technically we call it Cold Restart. After this, your windows will not skip bios.

To use dual boot on your PC, Just make sure you have enabled boot from cd or boot from USB. Then setup another OS you want. Your BIOS will automatically ask for your choice, in which OS you want to start your PC.
