Can someone tell me why is it when I try to create a new fax in "Windows Fax and Scan", an error
message pops up that read:
"new fax: unable to retrieve cover page associated with the selected account."
The only option is to click "OK", and when I do that another pop-up appears, that says, “The message could not be sent. Access denied." The "Setup Wizard" that is described on the Microsoft help html does not start, is there a way to uninstall Windows Fax and Scan and then reinstall it again?
I can’t create a new Fax in “Windows Fax and Scan”
I don’t know if your PC is running in windows 7 or vista or XP since they have different troubleshooting steps. Regarding the error message ("new fax: unable to retrieve cover page associated with the selected account.") after clicking on new fax, please check the cover page first before clicking on the new fax.
When you open windows fax and scan kindly go to “tools”, then select “cover pages…” and check if you have selected a cover page. If the fax cover page list is empty, select new to create a new one.
Try sending faxes again.
If the settings above didn’t help, try these steps to uninstall and re-install Windows Fax and Scan:
Open Control Panel in the start menu and go to Programs and Features.
Click on Turn Windows features on or off on the left pane.
Expand Print and Document Services then uncheck Windows Fax and Scan.
Click Ok and Restart the computer.
It should uninstall the Windows Fax and Scan. To re-install it back, follow the same process above but this time check Windows Fax and Scan.
