I came across the following errors while connecting to the iTunes
iTunes could not connect to the Store. An unknown error has occurred (-3259).
Make sure your network connection is active and try again.
And while trying to download purchased music, I got the error -3259 messages in iTunes
I hope someone could help me out figuring this out.

I’m not sure if your problem is related to an error in the operating system or with the application you are using when downloading your programs or with your internet connection. I think error -3259 is some sort of a connection interruption that is due to an unstable connection. Check your internet connection if it is stable enough.
You can verify its stability by browsing the internet using any of your web browsers. Try opening any website just to see if your computer can load the page smoothly. If it takes too long to load the page, then this is the reason why you are receiving that error when downloading from iTunes. Just fix your internet connection.
You can also try uninstalling the application you are using to download from iTunes and then install it back. This will fix any corrupted files in the installation.
