My Dell laptop runs on a 32-bit version of Windows XP. The other day, I tried to install Sony Vegas Pro Version 10 by downloading a free trial version to see if it can help me produce audio and video as well as play my Blu-Ray movies. The problem is when I try to run it, the following error message occurs. Can someone please help.

Vegas Pro 10.0

This software requires that you have Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista Service Pack 2, or Windows 7 installed. Please update your operating system and try again.

It is so because your system does not meet the minimum specifications needed to install Sony Vegas 10. Operating system requirements for windows XP are as follows:

1.      Microsoft Windows XP 32-bit with SP3 installed

You must also have a look at Technical specifications:

1.      Minimum 2GHz processor. A multicore or multiprocessor CPU is required.

2.      400 MB of hard drive space is needed for the program to install.

3.      Minimum 1GB of RAM should be there. But 2 GB is recommended for better performance.

Please update the operating system of your system to install Sony Vegas. Hope this is helpful.

Hi.

Your system requirements are not complete because your laptop is 32 bit with XP SP2.

System requirements for Sony Vagas pro 10 is 32 bit with XP SP3.

You can use Windows Vista 32 or 64-bit, using SP2, or indeed if you are up to date and you've got Windows 7, you can use 32 or 64-bit.

So all you need to do is upgrade your SP2 to SP3 and I am really sure it will work fine.
