Good morning,
I have been trying to install software which would help me update my computer program together with all the accompanying data.
I tried to install the Patch for my Power DVD 10 and the below error message popped up on the screen when I got to a certain step.
Could someone help?
PowerDVD – InstallSheild Wizard
Cannot install the patch.
Either this patch is not intended for your version of PowerDVD 10 or your system does not have
a previous version of PowerDVD 10 installed.
The patch installation will abort.
I will appreciate your help.
I am unable to install the Patch for my PowerDVD 10
If you have a previous version of the Power DVD in your computer, try to close all open applications and services of your DVD system then try to uninstall it.
If you have unsuccessful installations ahead, you can proceed with this steps: Start > Run > regedit, then delete all files and folders related to Power DVD.
You can use a cleaner to make sure that everything is removed. Inactivate the antivirus as well to make sure that online updates are not blocked.
Then you can try installing it again. If it does not work, try to install it in the safe mode of your computer. During start up, go to safe mode and then choose to start your computer in safe mode with internet connections if possible then install the software. After installation restart your computer in the normal mode and see if it works.
If your Power DVD is the genuine version, it is impossible to modify or alter the software.
Try getting the genuine patch from the website of the DVD system and it would work.
