Hi!

I have this friend who brings me Windows open source LAN games and sets them up for me. He set up for me Age of Empires and I realized that it does not run well on my PC. Every time I try to run it my computer freezes and I have to restart, not only the game but the entire system. At times immediately I launch the game I get a message saying that the resolution settings have been changed to Windows Vista, the screen goes black and then back on again. The game then launches and freezes.

It is often a software related problem, make sure you have all the latest updates installed for that program. Also make sure that you have  all the latest updates on your OS installed, and check if your drivers are up to date, you can do this by going to device manager to verify that no other devices are listed and there are no red x's  and exclamation mark. Finally, check if your computer is over-heating.
