Hi Experts!

I seriously have problem with my Dell Optiplex desktop computer. I am using a Windows XP Operating system. I am getting a fatal error 1500 on my computer. I do not know what my little brother and sister did, or if they ever touched the computer while I am away for an out of the country vacation.

When I turn on the computer, the computer freezes and I got that error every now and then, and I cannot work or even navigate. It has been a pain in the neck for a week now, and I do not know how to fix this kind of issue. Please guide me on what needs to be done.

Hello,

Fatal error i1500 occurs when someone is trying to install a program in which another application is already installed. And in the process now it is not possible to continue the installation while the error is not yet removed. Maybe your kids is pressing anything on your computer and causes some programs to install or corrupt that damaged your system.

First thing we got to do is to perform system restore. Reboot into safe mode with the command prompt, go to the administrator account so you have the permission to get these things done. Now at the command prompt, type %systemroot%system32restorerstrui.exe then follow the instruction to restore you computer to its earlier state of operation.

Hello Taylor Wilder!

First of all you have to realize that Microsoft Windows XP is becoming obsolete. According to Microsoft official website, they have stopped the support for it, after all the operating system has been launched for 10 years. Therefore the latest Windows updates are critical and you have to use other programs e.g. Belarc Advisor for any further updates.

Now you could try to format the machine, perform the defrag, and optimize the computer from time to time. Please be advised that machines need the maintenance like human being need the body check periodically.
