How to retrieve deleted hidden file?

Hey Guys,

I got a big problem with my Vista machine. I am trying to do a clean up on my computer. Unfortunately, I have used a shift + delete function and I have deleted one of the hidden files.

As of the moment, my computer is running smoothly, but I am worried that in the long run, I might get issue because of it. How do I deal with this? Can I get it back?

Hi Brad,

I'll give you a solution to help you solve your problem.

"RECOVER A FILE USING A SHADOW EXPLORER"

  • First,download and install the "Shadow Explorer".
  • Second,launch the Shadow Explorer as an administrator by right clicking the icon and then select "Run as Administrator".
  • Third, select a shadow copy of the hard drive that you like to explore and if you know  when the file was deleted, you could simply select a version that have been exist before the file been lost.
  • Fourth, navigate to the location of the file that deleted accidentally,the navigation pane will provide an easy-to-use folder tree for finding the "shadow copies"of the files on your system.
  • Fifth,right click the file or folder that you wish to recover and select the "Export."
  • Sixth,select a location to where you like to save the file or the folder you are recovering.

Hi Brad,

There is no problem if you deleted a hidden file, it is not compulsory that the file you deleted was a system file or might cause problems in the near future.  If it so happens that you see errors or other windows problems it is advisable to re install or recovery windows.

If the file you deleted was an important file for you and you want it back, there is a way to do it.  Use a file recovery software, Google it and you will get hundreds of such software.

Use it to get your file back.

I have search a software that can help you retrieve your deleted files.
