HTC One and HTC Sync Manager

I am having some issues with my HTC One or, more specifically, with its HTC Sync Manager. Every time I charge my phone on my laptop, the Sync Manager starts automatically, which is not a problem on its own. After I close the window, however, the program keeps on starting. No matter how many times I close the dialog window, it keeps popping up again.

Is there a way to make it stop, without getting rid of the possibility of using a computer-phone sync program?

If you normally charge your phone on your computer, make sure you close the application first before disconnecting the handset from the computer. This way, the software is properly terminated and no longer running before you actually disconnect the device. But supposedly, there should be no problem even if you don’t close the application before you disconnect the device.

It is designed to work that way. Try reinstalling the HTC Sync Manager. Click Start, Control Panel, and then Add or Remove Programs. Find and select HTC Sync Manager then click Uninstall or Remove. When it is finished, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then select Disk Cleanup. Select drive C then click OK.

Check “Temporary files” and Setup Log Files, click OK then click Delete Files. Restart your computer then install HTC Sync Manager back. See if this works. If you don’t have the installer, download it again from HTC Sync Manager. Check “I agree to the terms of the license agreement” then click Download. Before clicking on the Download button, check your handset first if it is supported on the top of the page.
