Hello experts,

Hp update client last week has stopped working. How will I be able to resolve this problem for I need to keep my hp laptop updated to avoid some malicious ware software or viruses over the internet? Online updates are very important for me; I know you can help me. Thank you.

Hello Greg, 

You can try downloading and installing two software patches:

1) URL 1 – ftp://127.0.0.1:2743/pub/softlib/software11/COL35050/pv-86831-2/sp49766.exe

2) URL 2 – ftp://127.0.0.1:2816/pub/softlib/software11/COL34630/pv-85800-1/sp46210.exe

You can get them also from the HP website or from the above two URL's and then try.

Hello Greg Lewis,

I will try my best just  to help you.

I think that your issue is due to the HP software framework.update which is installed in your laptop. In order to disengage this issue, please follow this step:

If you are using Vista

1. Go to start menu 

2. Control Panel

3. Select Program and Feature

4. And then uninstall the HP update program and HP framework

5. If the uninstallation process finished. Download this file HP UPDATE.

6. When your download completed, install it. And that is it fixed your issue.

But if you are using Window 7, here's my step

1. Go to Start Menu

2. Programs

3. Find Recovery manager

4. Software reinstallation, then select HP update

5. Once the installation process completed, open HP update program/try running it using HP updates from HP support assistant.

6. And that's it. 

Hope it works for you. If nothing happens after following all my steps. Just tell me. I will find another way just to fix your issue.

In order to solve this issue do the following:
– Go to Start Menu then click on programs
– Uninstall the HP Update program and HP Software Frameworks.
– Restart your PC.
– After the restart Reinstall the P update using the link below
– Find Recovery manager
– Software re-installation, then select HP update
– Open HP update program/try running it using HP updates from HP support assistant.
