Hi,

My HP scanner is running on Windows 7 x64. I received an error message i.e. Software Error: 4,[(3,42,0)] while scanning through the solution center of the scanner. However, I can scan one page at a time through the device utility. I need to scan more than one page at a time. I consult with the HP support but no result. How can I do that? Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Dear,

Your 4 3 42 0 problem is caused by the DPI settings you have on Windows 7. If you unclick the scan preview option, scanning completes as normal. I tried removing and reinstalling the apps, and still the problems persisted. The issue is on the HP scanning 13 software.

These days, we all use widescreen monitors with a high resolution set. The DPI setting can be used to increase the font/icon size to make it easier to read. The solution to the problem is changing the DPI setting in display properties back down to normal from the custom settings. Then, the previewing window comes up full screen, and there will be no 4 3 42 0 error during the scan.

I hope this helps you.

Kind regards.
