My server which is HP Pro Liant DL380G6, has been experiencing problems with the hard disk. One time I booted it and it gave me the error of input/output. This is an error of bad sectors.

I want to know is there a way I can repair bad sectors, without using an operating system?

Hi,

Here is the solution to your problem. Its just a temporary solution, you should change your hard drive at the latest.

1. Download Data Lifeguard

2. Run the one that writes zeros to all locations. It will disclose problems with the media. Depending on the model of the drive,     it's sometimes possible to re map bad locations to spares but this isn't recommended as a permanent solution.

Hello Longest,

Thanks for sharing your problem with us, i hope i will satisfy you by my answer.

Dear there a lot programs that are used for the recovery of bad sectors. Bad sectors are commonly came into being by improperly shut down of pc again and again.

So kindly prevent this to save your hard disk from bad sectors.

Now see how to remove bad sectors without operating system.

Kindly purchase or download Hiren Boot Cd. Download link is given below.

http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/

Boot your computer with hiren cd and run Maxtor low Level format, or any low level formatter. It will take up-to 4 hours, and your hard disk will be 100% free of bad sectors. It covers bad sectors. But it will erase all your data.

If you do not want to erase your data, then please use HDD Regenerator software.

This software is also available in Hiren Boot CD.

You will enjoy.

You can try to upgrade all the drivers for your HP Proliant DL380 G6 Server from the HP Support page. Select your Operating System from the list and then download the drivers for it. And also, you can use HDD Regenerator. You can find this software in Hiren Boot CD from the link below:
