HP printer software error report

Hello all,

I have recently installed Print cartridge on my HP office-jet 5610 all in one printer but it gives me the following error message:

print cartridge is incorrectly installed

$FriendlyName$ – Status

$FriendlyName$

Print Cartridge(s) Incorrectly Installed

A print is Cartridge Incorrectly Installed.

                                                 Help          OK

My problem is that I tried removing it but It cannot be removed it to correct the problem to re-install it correctly. It is stuck. Any ideas what should be done to resolve the issue? I'll be really grateful for any kind of help.

Hi Scott.

The main reasons that your cartridge is bringing in an error is because its either not properly inserted. Another reason could be that the nozzles are blocked. See this video

Try to remove it and re insert it again. Be care not to break anything. You can also try to check the nozzles from blockage.

Make sure you read the manual on and make sure the cartridges are inserted in there right slots, i mean black and color. If all of the above is not working replace the cartridge with a new one.

Hello Scott,

You are getting that issue possibly due to a defective cartridge, or there could be some firmware or hardware issue that you will need to rectify. 

You can try putting in the old one and see if that works. In case it says that it is installed correctly then  you will know that it is the ink cartridge that has issues.
