Hi guys,
I am trying to install the HP driver plugin on my system but unfortunately I am getting the following error message on my screen. The screenshot of the error is as follows:
HP Device Manager – Plug-in Installer
Plug-in install failed.
             OK
When I tried to install the plugin the HP toolbox downloaded a plugin installation script from an HP server to tmp directory. I don’t know why this is happening.
I really need to help to come out of this problem.
Any ideas are most welcome.
Regards,
scott
HP device manager Plugin installer failed
Hallo Scott,
Try the following resolutions:
-
You will need to do a run-time check mode (-r or –run) – That will help you find out if a distro supplied package, or maybe an already built HPLIP supplied tarball has got correct dependencies installed to successfully run.
-
Try both compile- as well as run-time check mode (-b or –both) to find out both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).
Regards,
Nicke

HP device manager Plugin installer failed

Hi Halton,

If you have tried installing over and over again and the error message still appears, then it seems that you will need to download a new installer. The file you have is corrupt. Go to the HP website, go to Support and Drivers, select or enter your device, select your Operating System, and download the installer.

If you are using a CD/DVD from a retailer, return it to have it replaced since the disk is defective.
