I have a VLC version 2.0.6 that is installed in windows, how can I establish a remote control tool for using my phone for this version of VLC.? I want to be able to use my phone to control the applications for this at my comfort. How can I update my VLC in windows?

On your PC:

  1. Download VLC Version 2.1 or later on your PC from here
  2. Once the download has complete, open VLC on your computer
  3. Click on Tools>Preferences>Show Settings>All

  1. Select Interface>Main Interfaces and select HTTP Remote Control Interface

On you Mobile

  1. Download VLC Remote onto your Android phone  ($2.99)
  2. Make sure that VLC app is open on your PC
  3. Open VLC Remote on your mobile

To connect to your computer

  1. Make sure you are connected to your Wi-Fi Network
  2. Once connected, click Add VLC Server and type your IP address (e.g 192.168.1.101 and leave the default port 8080 as is
  3. You should now be connected to the VLC app on your PC
